Today’s Block
Resisting your own healing, even when you deeply want it.
Listen If…
🔹 You’re avoiding a practice you once felt deeply called to
🔹 You’re feeling anxious, snappy, or shut down for “no reason”
🔹 You’re stepping into a new phase of leadership or identity
Three Takeaways
1️⃣ Resistance is not a sign something is wrong—it often means something really matters
2️⃣ Your inner child may need to feel seen and held before she can let you change
3️⃣ “Big dreams, baby steps” is the rhythm of embodied transformation
Going Deeper

When we resist the very healing we say we want…
Why Do I Resist Healing When I Want It So Badly?
You felt the pull. You said yes. You signed up for the Reiki training, the journaling challenge, the morning meditations. But now you’re procrastinating. Overeating. Scrolling. Snapping at your kids. Anything but the practice.
Sound familiar?
It might feel like sabotage. But it’s not. It’s a sacred part of the healing path.
The Sacred Nature of Resistance on the Healing Path
We often interpret resistance as failure. But what if it’s actually a signal that something important is happening? That your system knows a big shift is coming, and it’s scared?
Inge Broer, healer and guide, shares how after 15 years of walking the healing path, she still resists her own evolution. Especially when it involves leadership, visibility, or rooting her energy back into herself. Resistance shows up in the solar plexus. In old patterns. In childhood wounds begging to be seen and held.
Resistance, then, is not a red light. It’s a flare.
When Your Inner Child Says “No”
Sometimes it’s not the grown version of you who’s resisting the meditation or journaling. It’s the 10-year-old part of you. The one who learned to stay safe by hiding behind others. Who learned invisibility as a survival strategy. That part of you needs to be rocked. Seen. Loved.
Inge reminds us: resistance often signals an internal child who’s afraid of disappearing. Who doesn’t yet trust that healing means more safety, not less.
How to Meet Resistance With Grace
So what do we do?
Ask: “What am I resisting?” somehow the question takes the edge off – even if you don’t answer it.
Reframe resistance as a sign that it matters.
Remember: big dreams + baby steps = sustainable growth.
Let the resistance speak. Write it out. Let it sound ridiculous. Get it out of your system.
Know that grief is often underneath it. You’re saying goodbye to an old identity.
Final Truth
Your healing might feel inconvenient, even terrifying. But it’s also opening the door to deeper presence, more rooted power, and real impact.
You’re not doing it wrong.
You’re just meeting your edge.
